Our ethos is built on the principles of quality, sustainability and service.

Having lived around the Ashdown Forest for all of my life, and taken many walks there as a family. We’ve always loved the beautiful sights and smells of the forest throughout the seasons.

The forest brings calm, serenity, peace, clarity and tranquility to many. Something we have found especially helpful after a few years where life seemed to be relentlessly unkind.

It was on one of these walks that the idea of starting Ashdown Botanicals struck me, to create something beautiful for others, which will help them to unwind, relax and switch-off. Candles and Wax Melts are the perfect way to bring comforting fragrances into the home and set a mood.

One thing was clear, the Candles and Wax Melts needed to be as natural and close to nature as possible and the packaging needed to be from recycled and environmentally responsible sources – to ensure we reduce the impact on the environment wherever possible.

Our Wax
After extensive research we settled on the use of coconut wax. This wax is luxurious and one of the most eco-friendly waxes available on the market currently. The coconut tree is considered a sustainable crop because it can be re-harvested year after year. Our Coconut wax is vegan-friendly and free from any additives and is palm oil and soy free.

Our wax melt packaging is made from glassine envelopes which are eco-friendly and made from pure pine wood cellulose which is 100% recyclable, biodegradable, compostable and environmentally friendly. It is also a PH Neutral product.

Our gift bags are made from approx 230 micron paper made from recycled materials – fully recyclable paper and environmentally friendly.

Our Products
